This year's sold-out Saucony RockstAR saw 300 racers take on the legendary terrain surrounding the Bark Lake Leadership Centre in a battle of strategy and speed, posting some very impressive points scores, and also ROCKING the Rockband stage at the post-race party. We at Storm Racing and Hark Events have a total blast hosting this race, and we are absolutely thrilled with the tremendous growth and support it has seen in only 3 short years. Can't wait for 2011!
As of June 24th, the 2010 Saucony RockstAR adventure race is now completely sold out! A waiting list has been started should there be any team cancellations between now and July 20th. Write to info@stormevents.ca for more information.
650 intrepid racers, a dedicated and selfless army of race staff, safety personnel and volunteers, a kick-ass host site, and some pretty sweet weather (well, for the most part anyway). All of these elements added up to another spectacular weekend of Storming the Trent! Our biggest event to-date (and quite possibly the largest adventure race ever held in Canada), this year's Storm will be pretty tough to top, and will set the tone as we begin preparations for our 10th anniversary in 2011!
Registration for Salomon Storm the Trent has once again started off at record pace, with 75% of the available spots having already been filled at the time of the early entry cut-off. With the return of our full-weekend race format this year we'll be able to accommodate more racers than ever before, but a registration cap will still have to be imposed. Register your team soon to avoid missing out!
While we were admittedly a little slow out of the gates getting these finalized, samples of our 2010 Storm Swag can now be viewed by clicking here. We're experimenting with some new cuts, designs and screening methods this year, and we're really excited to offer what we think are some pretty cool looking custom-sublimated jerseys at a very reasonable price! As always, thanks go to our friends at Axis Gear, who are by far the best in the business of custom apparel - check out their design gallery at www.axisgear.ca
Canada's rocking-est adventure race experience! Registration is now open for the 3rd annual Saucony RockstAR, with early entry pricing in effect until May 1st for both the 4-hour and 8-hour races. Storm Racing and Hark Events have finalized their 2010 race schedule, and it looks like this:
On Sunday November 8, check out the 10th Anniversary edition of the Salomon Dontgetlost.ca Raid The Hammer adventure run. It's going to be an epic "East meets West" race through the City of Hamilton from the Redhill Valley along the Niagara Escarpment to the Dundas Valley. Teams of three can expect lots of climbing, tough route choices, and some gnarly running (with surprisingly few roads) through the "Raid" (about 25km) and "Enduro" (about 10km) course options.
Don't miss Canada's only Halloween-themed night trail running event on Friday October 16th, hosted by our good friends at Hark Events. This 5km or 10km trail run through the Lions Valley trails in Oakville is always a ton of fun, featuring on-course haunters and a section routed through a real cemetary, free pumpkins for the first 100 registered racers, best costume prizing, and even a "Creepy Mile" event for the little ones! Check out all the details at trekortreat.ca
